In response to climate change, IMA is committed to preserving the Marais Poitevin with the LIFE Maraisilience project.

Because protecting our territories is at the heart of today's climate issues, we are proud of our partnership with the European LIFE Maraisilience project. Led by the Marais Poitevin Regional Nature Park, this large-scale program aims to make this unique wetland a European model for adaptation and biodiversity preservation.

Marais Poitevin

A pioneering project for climate governance

The only French winner of the European “Climate Governance” call for projects, LIFE Maraisilience aims to transform wetlands into natural shields against climate change. The program capitalizes on the essential ecosystem services provided by the Marais:

  • Water regulation: Flood prevention and resource management.
  • Species preservation: Protection of an exceptional reservoir of biodiversity.
  • Carbon sinks: Natural CO2 capture thanks to preserved ecosystems.

A collective and territorial commitment

Together with some of our shareholders and leading local players, we are providing financial support for this initiative over a period of four years.

Why this commitment to IMA?

As a major player in assistance services, we are on the front line when it comes to the consequences of climate change on populations. Supporting LIFE Maraisilience means taking action at source to reduce climate risks and protect the living environments of our employees and members in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire.
