Strategic alliance between Pelayo, Seguros Lagun Aro, and the IMA Group: a joint project becomes reality
Seguros Lagun Aro and Pelayo formalize their alliance with the IMA Group for travel and home reinsurance in their portfolio, including an equity stake in Prestima to improve the customer experience.
An ambitious collaboration to strengthen travel and home assistance
Last October, Seguros Lagun Aro and Pelayo formalized an agreement marking the start of their joint venture with the IMA Group, Europe's leading assistance services provider, to reinsure travel and home assistance for their customers.
A strong commitment to high-quality assistance
Through this strategic agreement, Seguros Lagun Aro and Pelayo demonstrate their commitment to providing excellent service to their customers and guaranteeing quality standards through a solid future project that will offer comprehensive solutions through reinsurance for the auto and home insurance sectors.
"We operate in a highly demanding and competitive market, in which we must implement projects such as this one if we want to remain competitive and effective. We are convinced that thanks to this alliance, we will become a benchmark in the Spanish market in the areas of travel assistance, home assistance, and personal assistance," emphasizes Francisco Lara, president of Pelayo Mutua de Seguros.
For Pablo Mongelos, CEO of Seguros Lagun Aro, “After 33 years of fruitful collaboration, during which we have always shared the values and commercial vision of IMA Ibérica, we believe that the time has come to take a new step forward by embarking on this new project, which we are approaching with great enthusiasm. We are convinced that the union of the three companies will make us stronger and mark a new era in the national market.”
For David Pino, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the IMA Group, this alliance represents a strategic opportunity: "We have a tremendous opportunity to develop a unique model in the Spanish assistance market, closely linked to our Group's historical values, and to strengthen our national presence by expanding our portfolio and range of services. Our goal is to make the necessary investments at the Group level and in Spain in order to continue to position ourselves as a benchmark in the assistance sector."
An agreement that includes a minority stake in Prestima
This alliance, which aims to become a benchmark project in the market, also includes the minority participation of both companies in Prestima, a service company belonging to the IMA Group, which will improve the customer experience and allow each party to contribute its knowledge and experience.
Finally, it should be noted that this agreement also involves the transfer to Prestima of the Pelayo teams that perform these functions, preserving their continuity and conditions, as job stability is one of the main requirements of this project.
