The fog generator: IMA Protect’s new solution for deterring intrusions

Designed for rooms containing items of high sentimental value, sensitive documents, or expensive equipment, the fog generator provides an additional layer of protection to the IMA Protect security system. Its purpose: to immediately reduce visibility in the affected room in order to disorient the intruder, hinder their movement, and limit their ability to identify and steal items.

With an estimated coverage area of 30 to 50 m², the device protects a specific room in the home. It thus complements existing remote monitoring solutions by directly affecting the conditions in which the intruder operates, starting from the very first seconds of the break-in.

The fog generator is paired with a dedicated detector installed in the same room. When an intrusion is detected, it activates automatically, without any action required from the customer or remote intervention by the monitoring station. In about 25 seconds, it releases a dense, non-toxic fog that severely reduces visibility, leaving no traces or residue. A built-in siren complements the system, particularly when the protected room is located far from the rest of the alarm system.

Thanks to its battery power and the settings configured during installation, the device remains operational even in the event of a loss of connection. Its location, determined by an IMA Protect technician, ensures proper use of the device by precisely targeting its activation to minimize the risk of accidental triggering.
