Mobilization for exceptional snowfall

The IMA Group is fully mobilized to support motorists throughout France.

Following the exceptional weather conditions that affected a large part of France from January 5 to 7, 2026, the IMA Group, France's leading roadside assistance provider, has taken stock of its teams' efforts to ensure continuity of service and the safety of its customers. This situation led to a new record level of activity for the Group on January 5, with nearly 16,000 assistance cases opened across all areas.

Between Monday, January 5, and Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the IMA Group recorded:

  • A 35% increase in mobility assistance requests compared to the same period in 2025,
  • 32,991 mobility assistance cases handled,
  • 220,694 telephone calls recorded,
  • A 53% increase in requests for breakdown and towing services for breakdowns, flat batteries, accidents, flat tires, etc. compared to the same period in 2025,
  • An increase in accidents, with a 62% rise in towing assignments following an accident.

“These weather events, which are fortunately rare, highlight the importance of IMA's role: to respond immediately when French people are in difficulty. Despite sometimes extreme conditions, our teams and partners mobilized professionally to ensure the safety of those affected and provide them with practical solutions.”

The mobilization of everyone over these three days made it possible to maintain service quality and respond to emergency situations. This episode demonstrates the IMA Group's ability to absorb crisis situations, thanks in particular to:

  • The reinforcement of operational teams: more than 1,000 assistance officers mobilized per day, 21% more than during a normal period.
  • The implementation of a voluntary mutual assistance program called “Tous assisteurs” (All Assistants) by support staff.
  • Digital tools that facilitate the opening of self-service files and streamline access to information for our members and customers (e.g., real-time tracking of the arrival of repair technicians, etc.).

Snow and ice: the right reflexes to adopt

  • When driving on snow or ice

    • Reduce speed significantly and increase safety distances.
    • Avoid sudden acceleration and braking.
    • Use high gears and drive smoothly.
  • In case of immobilization

    • Get to safety (hazard lights, reflective vest if necessary)
    • Stay in your vehicle if conditions outside are difficult
